USA – Streaming platform provider Netflix (NASDAQ: NSDQ) acquired Allen, Texas-based game developer Boss Fight Entertainment.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. The acquisition will enable Netflix to expand its games catalog as the company builds out its in-house creative development team.Founded in 2013 by David Rippy (CEO), Bill Jackson (CCO), and Scott Winsett (COO), Boss Fight Entertainment is a development studio with an extensive experience building hit games across genres. The team will continue to operate out of their current studios in Allen, Austin, and Seattle, which will also enable Netflix to tap into creative talent beyond California. In the announcement, Netflix said that intends to build game experiences with no ads and no in-app purchases as part of their membership through partnerships with developers around the world, hiring top talent, and acquisitions like this one. This will enable the company to build a world-class games studio capable of bringing a wide variety of engaging original games to its hundreds of millions of members around the world.25/03/2022
