UK – Sona, a London, UK-based provider of a people operating system for deskless workers, raised $6.8M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Gradient Venture with participation from Anthony Danon, Maximilian Bittner, Graham Paterson, Andrej-Nicolai Henkler, Invested, Sri Pangulur, Tom Blomfield, Speedinvest, Andy Leaver, Lorenzo Franzi, and Novator Partners. In addition, Asif Moosani and Markus Lang are joining Sona’s board. The company intends to use the funds to triple its team, with a particular focus on engineering and product development, and to continue its growth trajectory.Led by Oli Johnson, Steffen Wulff Petersen and Ben Dixon, Sona provides an operating system that allows frontline staff to manage their work and engage with their employers. Designed for the specific needs of modern frontline workplaces, the platform combines productivity tools with an intuitive user experience. Features include live schedule view, absence management, instant messaging, and an innovative shift booking platform that matches shift vacancies with employees willing to take on more hours. In six months, Sona has built and launched its platform to an early set of customers, covering over 10,000 deskless workers within the UK and Ireland, going from pre-revenue to six-figure ARR since incorporating in July 2021.
