FYR Medical Raises $2.6M in Series A Funding

USA – FYR Medical, a Forth Worth, TX-based medical device company, raised $2.6M in Series A funding.

The round was led by NuVasive, which was joined by other firms and individual investors.Led by CEO Chris Silva, FYR Medical is a medical device company working to commercialize light field electro-optical technology originally invented by Lockheed Martin. This “emulated transparency” light field technology solves the pain points of existing head-mounted displays, reducing eye strain and viewable in any lighting condition, all in a lightweight, slim form factor. The company is building the medical display devices, delivering a platform to change how people interact with visual information. FYR intends to use the funds to develop extended reality (XR) digital loupes that deploy light field technology designed to reduce the eye strain and fatigue typical of most augmented reality and virtual reality headsets on the market today. The commercial launch of the XR digital loupes is planned for the second half of 2023.14/02/2023
