GERMANY – Agile Robots, a Munich, Germany-based robotics startup, raised an 8 digit US dollar Series A funding round.
The round was led by C Ventures, with participation from existing investors GL ventures, Sequoia Capital China, and Linear Venture Capital. The company intends to use the funds for future development of robotic products and its team, as well as accelerating growth in the global market. Led by Dr. Zhaopeng Chen, Founder and CEO, Agile Robots is a spin-off of the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), committed to connecting artificial intelligence and robotic technologies to develop sensitive robots, a deterministic robotic operating system (OS) towards safety-critical applications and smart applications across sectors. The core competency of the company is in the ability of combining highly sensitive torque-controlled robotic arms, driven by lightweight-robot technology, with a wide variety of intelligent software technologies. The specially developed, intelligent image processing algorithms enable robots to function safely and precisely in an unknown environment and to bolster cooperation between robots and humans. 03/04/2020
