UK – DMarket, a Los Angeles, CA-based in-game item trading platform and a monetization technology for game developers, content creators, brands, and players, closed $6.5m in venture funding.
The round was led by Almaz Capital, with participation from Xsolla. Alongside the investment, Trip Hawkins, the founder and CEO of Electronic Arts, 3DO and Digital Chocolate, joins DMarket as an independent board member. The company intends to use the funds to expand into further developments surrounding the in-game ecosystem, to increase its engineering force, and hire additional executives in the next three months.Led by Vlad Panchenko, CEO and Founder, DMarket provides a platform that enables secure buying, selling, and trading of in-game items. The company’s technology lets gamers exchange virtual items across titles and platforms while making money from gameplay. DMarket has offices in Los Angeles, London and Kyiv. Partners and customers include Xsolla, Unity, 4A Games, GSC Game World, Darewise, Playkey, Kiss Ltd., and Tatem Games. 19/06/2020
