Flockjay Raises $11M in Series A Financing

USA – Flockjay, a San Francisco, CA-based training academy for tech sales, raised $11m in Series A funding.

The round was led by e.ventures with participation from Lightspeed, Salesforce Ventures, Impact America, Cleo Capital, actress, producer & activist Gabrielle Union, joining past Seed investors including Coatue, Serena Williams and Will Smith. The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach. Led by Shaan Hathiramani, founder and CEO, Flockjay is an online academy that trains and reskills jobseekers from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds for future-proof jobs in tech sales, increasing their income in 12 weeks (Flockjay graduates see an average salary increase of 250%.) Upon graduation, the company actively helps to place its graduates at top tech companies, as well as offering an engaged and passionate community to continue supporting them along their career journey. 
Since its founding in 2019, hundreds of Flockjay graduates have been placed at companies like Salesforce, Zoom, Airtable, and Gong – with many of these hiring partner companies having now hired multiple Flockjay graduates. The company also announced a partnership with Opportunity@Work to enable 1+ million STARs (workers “skilled through alternative routes” who lack a 4-year degree) to translate learning into $20B in higher earnings by 2030. 14/01/2020
