USA – Linktree, a Melbourne, Australia-based linking platform, raised $45M in Series B funding.
The round was co-led by Index Ventures, and Coatue, with participation from returning investors AirTree Ventures and Insight Partners. Coatue Chairman Dan Rose will join Linktree’s Board of Directors. The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and open multi-location creator hubs that will double as workplaces for its remote teams, starting in Los Angeles, with more to follow.Founded by Alex Zaccaria, Anthony Zaccaria and Nick Humphreys in 2016, Linktree provides a platform that enables brands, artists, publishers, agencies, creators and small businesses to curate an online ecosystem, guiding their audience to the destinations that they care about, without using a search engine or websites as a starting point. The tool points followers in the direction of site owners’ choosing, like their other social profiles, an eCommerce store, or content they want to share — anywhere else on the internet, the choice is theirs. Brands and creators using Linktree include Shopify, Facebook, TikTok, YSL, HBO, LA Clippers, Jonathan Van Ness, Jamie Oliver, Gary Vaynerchuk, Pharrell and Major League Baseball.The platform has more than 12 million users globally, 4 million of whom signed up in the last three months.30/03/2021
