USA – Labrador Systems, a Las Vegas, NV-based early-stage technology company developing a new generation of assistive robots, raised an additional $3.1M in Seed funding.
The round was co-led by Amazon’s Alexa Fund and iRobot Ventures with participation from SOSV and new investors including Grep VC. The investment will be used to expand the company’s consumer and commercial activities, grow its engineering team and accelerate efforts with its manufacturing partners.Labrador Systems is an early-stage robotics company developing a new generation of assistive robots to help individuals live more independently. The company’s core focus is creating affordable solutions that address practical and physical needs at a fraction of the cost of commercial robots. Labrador’s first offering, the Labrador Retriever began pilot studies in 2021; the company will begin accepting reservations from the public in 2022, with plans to be in full production by the second half of 2023, and beta units available earlier.Along with the Retriever, Labrador announced plans to offer an entry level version of the robot, the Labrador Caddie, to provide different pricing and features based on the user’s needs. The company is also working with care providers in senior living, physical therapy and home health to explore ways the Labrador platform can support their mission and extend the impact of caregivers in a number of settings.04/01/2021
