USA – Pleno Inc., a San Diego, CA-based multi-omic instrument platform company innovating biological target detection for clinical testing and biomedical research, closed a $15m Pre-Series A financing.
The round was led by Medical Excellence Capital and Alexandria Venture Investments. Led by Pieter van Rooyen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Pleno has developed enabling technology called Hypercoding™, which leverages signal processing techniques derived from the telecom industry to deliver ultra-high plexity targeted biological information – including DNA, RNA, methylation, and proteomic content – at scale, precision, and performance. The company intends to use the funds to advance its Hypercoding™ instrument platform, capable of detecting up to 10,000 targets per sample and processing up to 10,000 samples per day.Pleno currently employs 14 full time employees and plans to rapidly grow its team in the coming months. The company also announced the addition of biotech industry veteran Gregory T. Lucier as Chairman of the Board of Directors.25/05/2022
