USA – Ember LifeSciences, a Westlake Village, CA innovator in the pharmaceutical cold chain industry, received an investment from Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR)’s corporate VC, Carrier Ventures.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.The company intends to use the funds to advance temperature control innovations including the self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box.Founded by Clay Alexander, Ember creates, designs, and develops temperature control products based on over 129 granted patents surrounding temperature control, data, and connectivity. Launched in 2022 as a healthcare-focused spinoff of Ember Technologies, Inc., Ember offers a self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box. Using built-in cellular radio and GPS, the Ember Cube reports location, temperature and humidity levels to the cloud for real-time tracking. The reusable and rechargeable shipping box features a refrigeration system to help ensure the safety of temperature-sensitive biologics while in transit. 15/02/2023
