sovity Raises Seven-Figure Seed Funding

GERMANY – sovity, a Dortmund, Germany-based data sovereignty as a service startup, secured a seven-figure seed funding.

Backers included High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), and Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds (FTTF). The company intends to use the funds for product development and expansion of its market presence, including partnerships with initiatives in the field of Data Spaces, such as Catena-X, Mobility Data Space and Gaia-X, as well as with the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA). Led by Sebastian Kleff, CEO, and Dr. Sebastian Opriel, CTO, sovity provides a data sovereignty as a service platform. The software – the Connector-as-a-Service – allows companies of any size to connect to a Date Spaces within minutes. Data Spaces embrace the principles of data sovereignty – companies always retain full control over their data. Founded in October 2021, the company is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering ISST in Dortmund. 22/02/2023
