USA – Watershed, a San Francisco, CA-based enterprise sustainability platform provider, raised $100m in Series C funding at a $1.8b valuation.
The round was led by Greenoaks with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Elad Gil, Emerson Collective, and Galvanize Climate Solutions. The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach. Watershed provides an enterprise climate platform that combines climate data and climate action for large companies to measure, report, and reduce their carbon emissions. In 2023, the company acquired CEDA, a multi-region emissions database, to arm companies with more actionable carbon data, launched Watershed Disclosures to streamline global sustainability reporting, and expanded the Watershed Marketplace, enabling companies to fund high-impact clean power and sustainable aviation fuel. Today, Watershed is a team of nearly 300 people, with offices in San Francisco, Calif., New York, NY, and London, UK. Customers span every region and industry and include leading companies like General Mills, Suncorp, Medline, BBVA, Paramount, Spotify, Klarna, four of the top six US banks, and six of the top 10 private equity firms.
