USA – Kairos Aerospace, a Sunnyvale, CA-based company which specializes in high-frequency aerial methane detection for the energy industry, raised $52M in Series D in funding.
Kairos will be rebranding as Insight M to better align with its go-forward vision, a change that will officially launch later in Q1. The round was led by funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, with participation from Hartree Partners, as well as existing investors DCVC, Climate Investment (an investment firm backed by 12 of the largest oil and gas companies in the world), and Energy Innovation Capital. The company intends to use the funds to bring its methane-mitigation technology to its customers.Kairos combines patented instruments and a proprietary data analysis pipeline to provide customers with rapid, clear, actionable information about where their methane emissions are located. Aerial leak detection allows Kairos to monitor entire fields for a complete picture of emissions and easily captures emissions data from equipment that is wide-spread or difficult to access by ground. The ability to scan more frequently from the air allows leaks to be identified, precisely located and repaired faster. Kairos technology is already in widespread use across North America.21/02/2024
