FRANCE – CrowdSec, a Paris, France-based provider of a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) solution, raised €14M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Supernova Invest with participation from Breega.The company intends to use the funds to grow its team from 20 to 45 members, develop its technical stack, ramp up revenues, expand its U.S. operations and further grow its worldwide network of protected, collaborating machines from several hundred thousand to millions.Launched in 2020 by cybersecurity experts Philippe Humeau, Laurent Soubrevilla and Thibault Koechlin, CrowdSec is a cybersecurity startup that produces a participative, open-source intrusion prevention and detection system able to assess the reputation of any IP address based on its behavior.A participative and open source (MITlicense) solution, CrowdSec leverages its user base (“the crowd”) to signal attacks and create a database of malicious IP addresses for all community members to block, generating a real-time, crowdsourced, threat intelligence system that can counter cyber attacks worldwide. By analyzing IP address behaviors, the company provides customized remediation for over 50 types of attack. At present, CrowdSec’s community spans 175 countries. 06/10/2022
