UK – Oxford Quantum Circuits, a Shinfield, UK-based quantum technology company, raised £869K in Second funding.
Backers included Quantum Exponential Group, and HiJoJo Partners. The company intends to use the funds for research and development and to accelerate its expansion into Asia Pacific, with a focus on Japan, where there is significant demand for quantum computers across multiple sectors, including financial services and pharmaceuticals.Led by CEO Steven Metcalfe, OQC is building quantum computers that aim to enable customers solve some of humanity’s most significant challenges, from climate change to new drug discoveries. It has also launched the UK’s first Quantum Computing as-a-Service (QCaaS), bringing quantum to the enterprise. The company’s computers are available via private cloud and on Amazon Braket. 06/02/2023
