UK – Quell, a London, UK-based fitness gaming developer, raised $10M in Series A funding.
The round, which brought total financing to $15.6M, was led by Tencent participation from Khosla Ventures, Heartcore Capital, Social Impact Capital and Naval Ravikant. The company intends to use the funds to upsize its launch game, Shardfall, and continue to expand its video game library. Led by CEO Cameron Brookhouse, Quell is a fitness gaming developer. Its ‘Impact’ platform offers a dedicated fitness gaming system, built to deliver high-impact training in immersive digital worlds. Its lightweight motion and fitness-tracking technology is combined with athlete-grade resistance bands to deliver real-world feedback, resistance and tracking to player action, burning over 600kcal an hour on average. Quell will also commence large-scale production of its ‘Impact’ fitness gaming system, a proprietary motion and biometric tracking technology with haptic sensors that offers a fully immersive video gaming experience where every workout burns over 600kcal/hour, the same as an intense spin class. 20/01/2023
