Carbon Maps Raises €4M in Pre-Seed Funding

Carbon Maps, a Paris, France-based climate tech startup, raised €4M in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was led by Breega and Samaipata. The company intends to use the funds to further develop its platform’s features and models, hire approximately 15 new people, and expand its services to other EU countries. Founded by Patrick Asdaghi (CEO), Jérémie Wainstain, and Estelle Huynh (COO), Carbon Maps provides a SaaS platform that performs assessment of consumer products, ingredients and raw materials. The system collects and analyzes data across all stages of the food chain, from farmers to consumers, to calculate a variety of impact indicators, such as carbon footprint, biodiversity impact, water use, and animal welfare, providing participants at all stages in the supply chain (producers, coops, brands, distributors) with tools to evaluate and monitor their respective climate strategies. The platform plans to cover all key indicators needed to support food companies’ ESG strategies, and, in particular, will integrate the Eco-Score, the upcoming environmental consumer product label detailed in France’s Climate & Resilience Law and expected to be in effect by the end of 2023. The founding team is supported by a scientific committee with experts in environmental science and agriculture, including Christian Huygue (INRAE), and Benoît Gabrielle (AgroParisTech).17/02/2023
