MEXICO – Bright, a Mexico City-based distributed solar company, raised $31.5M in Series C funding.
The round was led by Danish SDG Investment Fund, joined by various family offices and high net worth individuals. The company intends to use the funds for continued expansion of operations in Mexico.Led by CEO Jonah Greenberger, Bright provides a distributed solar operating system that enables people to offer cheap electricity to homes at no upfront cost, working with a network of project financiers, local installers, and local distributors to satisfy the resulting demand. Its first market is Mexico.Today, the company serves the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Since its founding, Bright has installed more than 30 megawatts of distributed solar for 4,700 customers by enabling local installers and entrepreneurs in Mexico and by providing cost-effective financing.Backers also include First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Servitje, the founders of Sunrun and Tesla, and other top Silicon Valley firms.27/07/2023
