USA – Transcend, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a data privacy infrastructure that gives users control over their personal data, raised $25m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Index Ventures alongside Accel, with participation from South Park Commons, Phil Venables (Board Member and former CISO, Goldman Sachs), and Dylan Field (CEO, Figma). The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its technology, strategy, and team. Co-founded in 2017 by Ben Brook, CEO, and Mike Farrell, CTO, Transcend has built a completely new data privacy infrastructure that fully manages personal data, no matter where it’s stored—databases, SaaS tools, warehouses, vendors, and everywhere else. It integrates into a company’s databases and applications, automatically handling requests end-to-end with no human intervention required. Transcend is coming out of a beta-phase in 2019 with a cohort of leading customers, including Robinhood and Patreon. 10/06/2020
