USA – Perfect Day, a Berkeley, California-based animal-free dairy startup, raised further $160m in Series C funding.
The round, led by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, brings the total round size to $300m. The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach. Led by Ryan Pandya, CEO & Co-Founder, and Perumal Gandhi, Co-Founder, Perfect Day offers dairy foods making milk protein using flora fermentation instead of animals. The company claims its flora-based dairy protein is nutritionally identical to the protein found in cow’s milk, but made without a single cow. They use the age-old process of fermentation, similar to how many common food components like vitamins, probiotics and natural flavors are made today. 11/07/2020
