UK – smol, a London, UK-based eco-friendly detergent subscription service, raised £8m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Balderton Capital with participation from JamJar Investments. The company intends to use the funds to expand its eco-friendly detergent subscription service, into new product categories, further into new markets and bolster its team. Founded by ex-Unilever execs Paula Quazi and Nick Green in 2018, smol is a laundry brand with laundry and dishwasher capsule packs, and a detergent subscription service which powers 1.5 million washes a week for it’s 250,000 users. The company’s new fabric conditioner bottles are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, are 100% recyclable. smol also offers a returns scheme for refill and reuse. 21/07/2020
