Microsoft To Buy Affirmed Networks

USA – Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is to acquire Affirmed Networks, an Acton, MA-based provider of a virtualized, cloud-native mobile core solution.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. The acquisition will enable Microsoft to deliver new opportunities for a global 5G ecosystem. Bringing Affirmed’s technology and team of experts into Microsoft will allow the company to extend its cloud offering to operators everywhere as they look to run their networks in a hybrid environment. Led by Anand Krishnamurthy, President & CEO, Affirmed Networks provides fully virtualized, cloud-native mobile network solutions that enable operators to simplify network operations, reduce costs and rapidly create and launch new revenue-generating services. Deployed in over 85 networks worldwide including Tier 1 operators such as AT&T, Vodafone, Du, Digicel, Etisalat, Softbank, Turkcell and more, the company’s webscale solutions allow operators to transform the economics of deploying and scaling 3G, 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi mobile services.
